Datanet honoured at Zebra Technologies ANZ partner conference

The Datanet team were delighted to be announced top award winners at the recent Zebra Technologies ANZ partner conference. The first award “Best Strategic Win” Australia award, recognised Datanet’s success in being selected as mobility provider of choice by Kleenheat Gas, for their recent Australia wide mobility rollout. The second award, was a recognition award for Keith Bland, business development manager for Datanet to honour his commitment, knowledge and consistency in promoting and developing the Zebra brand across Australia. Congratulations to the Datanet team, Australia wide.

Datanet Technology Event A Success

October 2009 - South Perth Yacht Club was the setting for the recent Datanet technology event which showcased emerging technology in relation to Mobile Computers, RFID and Wireless & Barcode technologies. Representatives from a broad cross section of industry segments were treated to an interactive and informative session which demonstrated how mobility technology could address their business needs. The message received from the event was that it was great to see such a wide breath of product and solution sets in operation. Datanet would like to thank all attendees for making time available and we hope you enjoyed the event and hope to see you at further events.

Datanet selected to mobilise Australia's largest privately owned service contractor.

October 2009 - With a fleet of over 140 service technicians Australia wide, AE Smith recognised the need to remove the paper trail and mobilise their field workers. Datanet worked closely with AE Smith to understand their field and back office requirements and proposed a number of products and solutions. The Datanet professional services team were instrumental in overcoming third party communication issues which facilitated a successful rollout nationwide. The recent implementation of mobility management software by the Datanet team allows AE Smith support staff to control, manage, upgrade and deploy device’s nationwide without leaving their head office in Mulgrave, Victoria.

Datanet Featured in RFID Journal

Datanet’s recent RFID project implementation for Mastec an Australian manufacturer of general refuse, recycling and green waste bins has been featured in a full length article in the August edition of RFID Journal – The World’s RFID Authority. The article showcases how Datanet were engaged by Mastec & the North Adelaide Waste Management Authority to build a custom solution to track some 180,000 bins across a broad geographical reach. The article highlights a number of unique technical and non technical challenges presented by the project and is a must read for anybody considering implementing RFID in their business.

Datanet receive RFID innovation award at Motorola APAC Ecosystem Summit.

Datanet’s project success in RFID system design, deployment and implementation for the mining sector was recognised at the recent Motorola RFID APAC Ecosystem Summit held in Bangkok, where Datanet was awarded a special recognition award for innovation in RFID. The award presented by Mr Paul Blinkhorn MD, Motorola, Australia New Zealand was made to Garry Stewart MD Datanet in recognition of Datanets implementation of Motorola RFID technology in the Australian mining sector.

The award ceremony was conducted at a special awards dinner which was the culmination of a two day RFID Ecosystem Summit. Datanet were also very proud to make a presentation at the summit on the topic of 'Natural Resources - RFID Applications'

Successful deployment of Datanet Pro/Dispatch.

Datanet has recently completed the production deployment of our new PRO/Dispatch system to Metropolitan Plumbing in Adelaide.

Based on .Net, SQL Server 2005 and web technologies the system is responsible for logging, dispatching and invoicing for all Metropolitan Plumbing's 26 vans. Each job is dispatched to a Next G connected touch terminal in the plumbres van where the plumber can record job details, materials and labour used. At completion of a job the job is invoiced and printed on site and payment is made. Invoices are automatically dispatched back to head office where they are imported into MYOB for financial recording and reporting leading to reduction of duplication of effort, more accurate billing times and full recording of job details.

PRO/Dispatch makes use of the Imarts's SmartTrack web interfaces and other mapping technology to automatically record vehicle locations and site maps to enhance the ease of use for dispatchers and plumbers.
